FAMILY CONSTELLATIONS
OR
ORDERS OF LOVE AND MOVEMENTS OF THE SOUL
Each of us is a member of a family system that extends over several generations. The unfinished business of our ancestors remains in the family “field”, blocking the natural flow of love and creating difficulties for following generations.
German psychotherapist Bert Hellinger has rediscovered what he describes as the age-old Orders of Love, which are deeply imbedded in the unconscious of family systems. Disturbances in this natural Order will inevitably show up in present and future generations, manifesting in life difficulties and suffering. Restoration of the Orders of Love brings about healing, lessens suffering and changes lives. Family constellations restore a person’s current life difficulties by restoring order in family systems.
It works like this: participants in a group setting are asked to choose representatives for various family members. The representatives then respond to the subtle voice of the family unconscious and to interact in such a way as to present a snapshot of family relationships and dynamics. This picture reveals previously hidden truths which inevitably bring about increased insight and, ultimately, healing.
Many would agree that this work defies description and must be experienced. It calls upon the collective experience and energy of our family systems, past and present, to restore Love’s hidden symmetry and heal human suffering and difficulties.
Offered in workshop format, this work has helped thousands of participants worldwide to experience life altering changes in how they understand their own lives and the lives of generations of family members.
